Fred Waltenburg

Fred Waltenburg, 84 of Wiggins, died Monday, January 18, 2010 in Hattiesburg.

Mr. Waltenburg was born in Port Huron, MI to Christy and Lillian Waltenburg. He served in the Merchant Marines and the US Coast Guard during WWII. He retired from Dunn Paper Company. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. He was a member of the VFW Post 4526 in Gulfport, the D’Iberville Moose Lodge 332, and the American Legion Post 119 in Gulfport.

His parents and brother, Tom Waltenburg, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Waltenburg of Wiggins; daughters, Judy Dell of Winder, GA, Sandy (Dave) Strausser of Hodkinsville, KY, and Chris (Mike) Dell of Lauranceville, GA; stepsons, Jack (Lisa) Williams of Luzerne, MI and Dan (Bobbie) Williams of Marine City, MI; stepdaughters, Sherren (Bob) Young of Ontario, Canada and Linda (Paul) Jones of Florida; sisters, Carol (Bob) DeLong of Port Huron, MI and Ruth (Bob) Cooper of Salem, AR; brothers, Cliff Waltenburg of Kimball Township, MI and Charles (Ann) Waltenburg of Boynton Beach, FL; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
