Paul Dean “Deaner” Weatherholt, age 77, went to his Heavenly Home February 11th at the Mississippi University Medical Center in Jackson where he had been undergoing treatment for Acute Mylegenous Leukemia.
Mr. Weatherholt was born in Decatur Illinois, to Clifford and Ethel Coles Weatherholt, both deceased. He graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School in 1950.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Bob and Frank and his first wife, Deloris Hendrix.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Rae (Mitzi), a brother, Harold (Bill) and wife Joyce of Virginia Beach, VA, sister in law Mary (Katie) Weatherholt of Franklin IN, and several sisters and brothers in law, four sons, Donald (Mia) of Ann Arbor, MI, Keith (Charita) of Fairfield, CA., Curtis of Tecumseh, MO, and Brian of Brookfield, IL.
Two step daughters, Beth A SanFilippo (Paul) of Cary, IL. And Melody Boyd (Michael) of Appleton, WI.  Grandchildren: April Millsaps (Tony), Centerville, IA, Sarah Ann Weatherholt, Ann Arbor MI, Amber Weatherholt, Baton Rouge, LA, Jason Weatherholt, Fairfield, CA, Matthew Weatherholt, Poplarville, MS.  Step Grandchildren, Paul Jr., Sam, and Frank SanFilippo, Cary IL. Jeremy, Cody and Madelyn Boyd of Appleton WI.  Great Grand Children: Tristen Millsaps, Centerville, IA, Kayleigh Blair Weatherholt Baton Rouge, LA.
Mr. Weatherholt was a member of several fraternal organizations, including: Westchester Masonic Lodge, Riverside IL (42 year member), Lawndale Eastern Star Chapter #749, Riverside, IL, Knights Temple, Howell Commandery #28, Howell, MI, Royal Arch Mason, Washtinaw Chapter, Ann Arbor MI, transferred from Shriners Medinah Temple in Chicago to Khedive Temple in Cheasepeke VA in 1998, Transferred to Joppa Temple, Biloxi, MS in 2004 and to Hamasa Temple in Meridian, MS in 2007. He was also a member of J L Power Masonic Lodge in Perkinston. Paul served as President of the Stone County Shrine Club for two years.  Under his direction and the help of his wife, the SCSC held a “Screening Clinic” for the Shriners Childrens Hospital in Shreveport, LA. This was the first time a screening clinic had been held in MS.  They sent 23 Children to the various Shriners Hospitals for evaluation and treatment.  It was the most successful screening clinic ever held.  It was so awesome the Shreveport Hospital used the Stone County Shrine Club clinic as a model for others to follow.
In 2007 Mr. Weatherholt joined the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Wiggins. Once again he proved to be a dedicated leader and worker. 
During the first three months of membership he and his wife were responsible for 10 new members. He served as Noble Grand in 2009. In 2008 he was a charter member of Robert E Lee Encampment, Purvis, MS. He was also instrumental in forming the Neighbors Helping Neighbors, serving as President in 2009.
He retired as Supervisor of Building and Grounds with Riverside-Brookfield High School in Riverside, IL. after serving 25 years in the Riverside and the Blue Island School Districts.  He held his Chief Engineers License and also his Power Engineers License, both in Chicago, IL.
He was a contributing writer for the Stone County Enterprise and he spent the last several years of his life serving others, especially those less fortunate. 
He will be sadly missed not only by his family and friends but the entire community.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. February 20th at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins. The family will receive visitors at their home (1111 Hwy 29, Wiggins) following the service.
An additional Memorial will be held in Atwood, IL. February 27, at the United Church of Atwood. The service will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed with lunch at the Church .
