Mr. Samuel Leighton Smith, 78, of Perkinston, died Sun., July 1, 2012 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg.
Mr. Smith was a Navy Veteran, member of Perryville Baptist Church, captain of the football team at Old Wiggins High and a member of Masonic Blountville Lodge in Prentiss.
His son, Samuel Leighton Smith Jr.; two sisters, Alphea Dykes and Varnetta Yates; three brothers, Gaston Smith, Marcus Smith and Meriel Smith; his parents, Clyde and Bertie Smith, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving companion of 30 years, Phyllis Olds of Wiggins; daughters, Kimberly (Truder) Graham of Columbia, Kelly (Glenn Anderson) Nobles of Prentiss; son, Todd Smith of Prentiss; grandchildren, Samantha Graham of Foxworth, Candy Nobles of Byrum, Katie Smith of Columbia, Nick Nobles of Lakeland, Fla., Leighton Nobles of Hattiesburg; brothers, Louie (Janice) Smith of Prentiss, Kelcie Smith of Columbia and Schilean (Barbara) Smith of Columbia, Syboyd (Pat) Smith of Spring, Texas, Bertie (Charles) Zipfel of Grayslake, Ill., also survived him is his pal Boo.
Graveside Services were held Tues., July 3, at Greens Creek Cemetery in Carson.
Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins was in charge of arrangements.
