The Stone High freshmen football team wrapped up a 5-0 season Monday with a 21-0 victory over Vancleave.
The Tomcats got on the scoreboard after Dejuan Armstrong connected with Omareon Calloway on a 40-yard pass which put the ball on the Vancleave 8-yard line.
Keeshawn Armstrong then scored on a running play. The PAT was no good.
All three players combined on the next score when Dejuan Armstrong pitched the ball to Keeshawn Armstrong and he hit Calloway with a halfback pass for a touchdown.
Dejuan Armstrong capped that off when he ran a quarterback sweep for the 2-point conversion.
"That's exciting football but I don't want anyone to forget our offense is made possible by the guys up front," said coach Greg Amacker. "Both our offensive line and our defensive line had great seasons for us."
The scoring continued in the third quarter when Keeshawn Armstrong scampered in from 12 yards out and Hayden Harrell kicked the extra point.
"The boys played lights out and we got another shutout," Amacker said.
Marcus Knott, Kelton Hickman and Justin McBride paced the defense for the Tomcats.
Chris Blanchard and Evin Jagours scored touchdowns as the junior varsity beat Vancleave 14-8.
Quarterback Zac Syverson added a 2-point conversion while Deon Bradford paced the defense with an interception and a fumble recovery.
The JV finished their season 2-3.
