Members of two churches descended on Stone County last week to rebuild a home destroyed by the Christmas Day tornado.
Scott Hilburn, a Stone County resident and member of Landmark Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Wiggins, received help from members of Prairie Grove (Ark.) Christian Church after Hurricane Katrina and became fast friends with Doug Bartholomew.

"We came down in 2007 and Scott has become probably my best friend," Bartholomew said. "We came to visit at Christmas and he told me about this house and the gears just started turning."
Members of Prairie Grove Christian Church were joined by another church in Durant, Okla. and built a house for the Tony Jones family on Will Lee Road.
The Jones family lost three houses in the tornado.
In addition, the mission teams rebuilt a home in McNeil in Pearl River County.
Keith Boston, a 17-year-old from Prairie Grove, was on his fifth mission trip.
"It's a great experience," he said. "It helps me get closer to God by doing his work."
Pat Jones said the mission team's efforts were the most awesome thing she'd experienced in her life.
"We're just so excited; it's like a miracle to us," she said. "We know we were blessed because it was hard when the storm hit but nobody was hurt and we can't be thankful enough for all the concern and help we've received.
"The Lord surely works in wonderful ways."
