There will be a change in leadership in Wiggins following the June 4 general election.
Republican mayoral candidate Joel Miles, the current Alderman-at-Large, took a landslide victory over incumbent Mayor Jerry Alexander.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Miles or Democratic Party candidate Tina Davis will win the general election.
Miles received 74 percent of the votes cast in the Republican primary.
George Smith also unseated incumbent Ward 3 Alderman Derrick Gates in the Republican primary.
Mary Frances Carson defeated Hope High Ladnier in the Republican primary for the Alderman-at-Large seat being vacated by Miles.
City Clerk Johnette Cook said she hopes to have an official ballot for the general election early next week.
