Stone County has been selected to receive $7,348 in federal funds to supplement emergency food and shelter programs.
A national board chaired by the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency and featuring members of the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, National Council of the Churches of Christ, the Jewish Federations of North America, the Salvation Army and the United Way made the decision to assist Stone County.
A local board will be charged with disbursing the funds in Stone County to emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area.
