Stone County's newest mural will be dedicated next Monday at noon.
Honoring both military veterans and the history of the building housing Griffin-Young Memorial VFW Post 2706, the mural was paid for through donations and painted by Hattiesburg artist Kym Garroway.
A dedication ceremony will include members of both families for whom the post is named.
Efforts by the Stone County Board of Supervisors repaired the building and made sure it received a new coat of paint in order to be ready to receive the series of murals.
Board President Scott Strickland will perform master-of-ceremony duties while Rev. Dayna Goff of First United Methodist Church will offer the invocation and benediction.
Students from Vardaman Street Christian Academy will present a patriotic song and the Pledge of Allegiance and Daisha Walker will give a patriotic Telling Trees story.
The event will also feature recognition of donors and a rededication and ribbon cutting for the renovated Post 2706.
