Mr. Robert Wilson “Bobby” Rouse, 83 of Fruitland Park, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Fri., Nov. 29, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Rouse was born Sept. 11, 1931. He attended OLV and graduated from Moss Point High School after which he attended MS State on a football scholarship. Bobby left college to serve two years in the Korean War. After discharge, he worked at International Paper Company in Moss Point as a welder for 42 years. He was active in coaching baseball in Moss Point and mentored many young men on how to become better athletes, as well as better sportsmen.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Wiggins and the Knights of Columbus. He will be missed by his family and his devoted companion, Mrs. Geraldine Cameron of Lumberton.
His mother; wife of 58 years, Sally Rabby Rouse; and siblings, Dewey Graham, Roberta Powalski and Sam Graham, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include one adoring daughter, Susan Rouse Lacey; and one loving granddaughter, Sophie Elizabeth Santos.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 4 at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Dec. 5 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Wiggins. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
