Tomcats, Lady 'Cats unbeaten in district play

The Stone High Tomcats soccer team returned from the Thanksgiving holiday with a pair of victories last week to post a 2-0 record in Region 7-5A.
Kolby Krohn scored two goals in a 7-1 victory over Pearl River Central and a 4-2 defeat of Picayune.
Case Sloan had a goal and two assists in the PRC game while Clay Taylor, Michael Graham, Mason Hunt and Kyle Kunns all scored a goal.
"I was proud of this big win and the opportunity to play everyone," said Coach Jim Risen.
Tanner Nations and Sam Rogers split time in goal for the Tomcats, who are now 5-2-3 overall.
Graham scored what proved to be the winning goal in the victory over Picayune.
Jon Taylor also scored while Graham recorded two assists.
"We played with a lot of heart to win after not having played for nearly three weeks," Risen said.
GIRLS
Kaitlyn Harwell scored twice as the Stone High Lady 'Cats beat Pearl River Central 5-1 Friday.
With an additional victory over Picayune, details of which are unavailable, the Lady 'Cats are 2-0 in Region 7-5A play.
