Hood Fields was packed just about as full as it could get this past weekend for a recreation baseball tournament.
Organizers are calling the tournament an unqualified success.
"It was a success in every aspect," said Tom Jellison, Stone/Wiggins Recreation Association Director. "Financially, we did very well."
Teams of all-stars from the t-ball level up to 15-and-under converged on Stone County for the three-day event.
Between Friday and Sunday, 48 teams competed in six divisions.
"We had a lot of positive feedback," Jellison said.
The only drawback seemed to be a lack of parking and the one-entrance, one-exit layout of Hood Fields.
"It got a little crazy at times, but that's something we continue to work on," Jellison said.
The SWRA Baseball Board wanted to thank the Stone County Sheriff Department for security and AAA Ambulance for medical services.
The board also thanked the many volunteers who made the tournament possible.
"This is one of those things, you just couldn't pull it off without the volunteers," Jellison said.
A Stone County All-Star team won the 12-and-under division of the tournament.
Vancleave won the t-ball division while Ocean Springs was the 7-and-under champion.
Teams from Oak Grove won both the 8-and-under and 10-and-under divisions and East Central came out on top of the 15-and-under division.
