Wiggins man charged in Hatten Slaying
A Stone County man has been charged with the capital murder of former supervisor Duncan Ray Hatten, and is currently being held without bond in the Stone County Regional Correctional facility.

Respects paid Friday despite rain
At Wiggins First Baptist Church Friday evening, despite inclement weather, family, friends, and coworkers turned out by the hundreds to pay their last respect to Duncan Ray Hatten. The line of mourners stretched outside the church to the corner of Third Street at times.

Forclosure beginning against Horizon developer
On April 25, foreclosure proceedings began against Mississippi Investors VI, the real estate development partnership responsible for the planned 8,000-unit Horizon subdivision, as well as other developments in the coastal area. The foreclosure affects 2,269.5 acres of land, which are part of Horizon, as it has so far been planned.

New trucks for Stone County
