Landmark Memorial plan fall revival
Landmark Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Iowa Street, Wiggins will begin fall revival on Sun., Oct. 31. and continue throughout the week. Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch on the grounds and an afternoon service. Weeknight services begin at 7 p.m. Guest preacher will be Bro. John Smith. Church members invite the public to attend.

Haunted House
PERKINSTON – Perkinston Volunteer Fire Department will host the 2nd Annual Haunted House and Carnival 6 p.m. until Fri. and Sat., Oct. 29-30 and 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., Sun., Oct. 31. Adults $3, Teens $2, Children $1, 5 and under free. All games are $1 each or $7 for all.

Merchant Trick O Treat
Stone County’s Annual Merchant Trick O Treat will be held 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 28. A costume contest will follow in Blaylock Park. For more info call 601-928-5418.

Fifth Saturday Gospel Sing
Sanford Community Center, 663 Old Hwy 49, Sanford, will be the location of a fifth Saturday Gospel Sing at 6:30 p.m., Sat., Oct. 30. Featured groups include Mississippi Five, Back Porch Bluegrass Gospel and Faithway Singers. Admission is free. For more information call 601-765-6485.

Fall Festival planned at Byrd’s Chapel
Byrd’s Chapel United Methodist Church will hold their annual Fall Festival, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Sat., Oct. 30. Events include a hayrack ride at 10:30 a.m., auction at 12:30 p.m., arts, crafts, general store, bake sale, plant sale, rummage sale, kids’ games, food and live entertainment. Big Level Baptist to host fall festival
Big Level Baptist Church will host their annual Fall Festival at Flint Creek Water Park Sat., Oct. 30. There will be pony rides, horse and buggy rides, face painting, inflatable obstacle course, football games, bracelet making and much more. All children’s activities are scheduled for 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Starting at 6 p.m. there will be praise and worship around the campfire with Sonny and Tory Dardar of “Broken Vessels.” All festival activities are free and open to the public. Concessions will be available and all proceeds will be donated to the BLBC College and Career Passion Conference fund.

Learn the art of Dulcimers
The Pine Hill Dulcimers will meet at 6:30 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 28 at the Presbyterian Church in Wiggins. The church is located at the corner of College Avenue and Third Street. Destiny Christian to host family day
Destiny Christian Worship Center, 713 W. Central Ave., Wiggins, will host a Family and Friends Day, at 3 p.m., Sun., Oct. 31. Guest speaker will be Pastor Jacob Tate of Franklinton, LA. Food will be served after the service. For more info call 601-528-9001.

Faithview to host Pumpkin Patch

Old Times Day
The 11th annual Old Times Day is scheduled for Sat., Nov. 6 at the Batley Farm in Leakesville. Some of the day’s activities will include primitive craft demonstrations such as the operation of the grist mill, cane syrup making, soap making, quilting, cow milking, butter churching, primitive plowing and logging demonstrations, a mull pull, antique and junk action and more. Youth basketball
Its that time again. Registration dates for the 2010/2011 season will be 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Sat., Oct. 30 at the Jerry Fairley Soccer complex. Continued registration will also be on the following Monday and Thursday nights at the Stone County Courthouse in the supervisor boardroom, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. qualified participants are for ages 7 - 15 on Sept. 1, 2010. Golf Tournament

VSCA to host food drive
Vardaman Street Christian Academy will hold a food drive Oct. 20 – Nov. 12. The school is accepting all non-perishable foods. Items can be dropped off at the front office 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Mon. – Fri. All items collected will be donated to “Our Daily Bread” food pantry.

H.A. Brown UMC celebrates anniversary
H. A. Brown United Methodist Church, 200 N. Azalea Dr., Wiggins, will host its church’s 17th year anniversary at 3 p.m., Sun., Oct. 31. Guest speaker will be former pastor, Rev. Robert Pittman of Moss Point UMC.

Pesticide applicator training
A private pesticide applicator training is scheduled for 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Tues., Nov. 16 in the Stone County Extension Conference Room on Crtiz St., Wiggins. Participation fee is $10. To register call 601-928-5286.

Historical Q&A
Local historian, Charles Sullivan, will be at the Antique Mall, 205 E. College Ave., Wiggins, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sat., Oct. 30. Beginning at 11 a.m., he will speak on Civil War books suitable for the young reader and available for purchase. He will be available to answer questions from individuals related to historical photos, documents and other objects in their possession until 5 p.m. The public is invited and refreshments will be served. Haunted Forest and Hay Ride

Nutrition Group Meets
The monthly Nutrition Group will meet at 6 p.m., Wed., Nov. 10 in the Stone County Extension Conference Room on Critz St., Wiggins. This group focuses on healthy, nutritious foods and food preparation. For more info call 601-928-5286.

Woman’s exercise class
The Strong Bones, Strong Women exercise classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday in Wiggins at the Stone County Rehab Center, Hwy 26 at 9 a.m. and at the McHenry at the new Community Building next to the McHenry Fire Station at 10:30 a.m. The classes are for osteoporosis prevention and muscle strengthening. Oktoberfest
Unity Baptist Church, 236 Hwy 49, McHenry, will host an Oktoberfest 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Sat., Oct. 30. There will be hamburgers from Frosty mug, games and prizes, cakewalk, trunk or treat and a Biblical Costume Contest and a hayride. The public is invited to attend.

SHS plans Drug Free Carnival
In observance of National Red Ribbon Week, Stone High School will host a Drug Free Carnival 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 28 on the school campus. The event is open to all children, parents and community members and will work to promote drug awareness. There will be a Haunted House, petting zoon, booths, activities and games.

Thanksgiving Dinner
Miriam Chapter No. 67 OES, will have its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Masonic Temple on First St., on Nov. 5. Servings of turkey and dressing and the usual trimmings with dessert of cake will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until gone. Donations of $8 per plate will be accepted.

Perryville Baptist plans Fall Fundraiser
Perryville Baptist Church in McHenry will host a fall fundraiser 9 a.m. – 4 p.m, Sat. Oct. 4. There will be games, cakewalks, gospel singing, silent auction and fried chicken plate lunches. All donations will be accepted and the public is invited. Proceeds will go to help needy families and the elderly. For more info call 601-528-1387.

Bake Sale
Stone Middle School Art Department will host a bake sale fundraiser 8 a.m. – 2p.m., Sat., Oct. 30 in front of the Wiggins Wal-Mart. All proceeds will go to purchase art supplies.

Monthly Breakfast
Wiggins Masonic Lodge No. 481 F&AM, 129 S. First St., Wiggins will host its monthly breakfast at 8 a.m., Sat., Nov. 6. Plates are $5 and the public is invited.
