Billy Hickman

Mr. Billy George Hickman, 77 of Saucier, died Sun., July 15, 2012, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Hickman was born August 12, 1934, in Saucier to the late Emma (Alexander) and Peter Hickman. He attended Saucier and Perkinston schools. He worked in the areas of timber, cattle and real estate. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lyman. He served as Colonel of Staff for Governor Cliff Finch. Mr. Hickman owned Billy Hickman Land Sales for more than 32 years.
An encouraging selfless man that never met a stranger, Billy had many loves in his life. He loved his chosen profession of land sales and development, exchanging stories with great friends, and recounting events through history. “Billy George”, as many knew him, loved people and counted friends as family. His greatest loves were God, his wife and his son.
His parents; siblings, Maxine Hickman, Jack Hickman, Vera Hickman Blackwell, Grace Hickman and Harold Hickman, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Linda Gartman Hickman; son, Tyler M. Hickman; sisters, Merle Simmons and Gloria Murphy; and many family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wed., July 18, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport from 6pm-9pm. The funeral services will be held at 3pm, Thurs., July 19, at First Baptist Church of Lyman with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Barney Hickman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cameron Bell, Dickie Joe Ladner, Gene Stenum, Harold Rouse, Cordell Anderson and Bill Spears. Honorary Pallbearers are Keith Bell, Tom Withers, Harold V. Hickman, Randy Williams, Jerry Gartman, Robert Tompkins, Doug White and Larry Thrash.
Riemann Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
