WIGGINS - It is once again time for Stone County residents to express their artistic nature through scarecrows.
Sponsored by the Stone County Economic Development Partnership and the Pine Hill Ladies organization, the contest runs from Oct. 11-21 and votes may be cast at www.stonecounty.com
Businesses, churches, families, individuals, schools and organizations are invited to display creative - or otherwise - scarecrows in front of buildings and in neighborhoods.
"It's a fun way to promote a business and Stone County," said Jay Paul Gumm, SCEDP executive director.
The winning scarecrow will receive the People's Choice Award ribbon, $50 in cash and will be featured in the Stone County Enterprise.
Runners up will receive ribbons.
Scarecrows must be registered by calling the SCEDP at 601-928-5418.
