The second annual Pretty in Pink breast cancer awareness fundraiser will take place from 3-6 p.m. Saturday at Blaylock Park.
"We're going to have children's activities, live music, a survivors' walk and speeches," said Jackie Johnson of the Stone County Sheriff Department. "There will also be raffles going on every hour and a silent auction."
Johnson is a founder of Pretty in Pink and is serving as coordinator of the event for the second year.
We raised more than $7,000 at last year's event but then we had a $1,5000 check from a church in Japan," Johnson said. "In all, we raised almost $10,000."
All donations will be contributed to the Pink Heart Fund, a Long Beach-based breast cancer awareness organization.
Bivens' Barbecue and The Whistle Stop Cafe will be serving food.
Hood Industries donated wood for the pink ribbon signs which can be seen around town.
Alexander's Hardware donated sandpaper, paint and other sundries for the signs.
Southern Supply, Walmart, Kloze Kloset, Luxury Nails, Bumper to Bumper, Western Sizzlin', Jack's Home Improvement, Advance Auto Parts, Family Dollar, Lane's Jewelry, Top Knots and Tails and Pecan House also donated to the event.
Pretty in Pink wanted to extend a special thank you to Stone County Sheriff Mike Farmer and Stone County Regional Correctional Facility Warden Duane Brewer for their assistance.
Johnson said there were no advance tickets to the event.
"Just show up and have a good time and help us defeat breast cancer," she said.
