Two accidents have left three area residents hospitalized at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
On Monday, Felicia Holliman and her mother, Pat Basye, were returning home after having spent the day at Memorial Hospital, Gulfport with Holliman's father.
Holliman was driving a GMC Envoy northbound on Hwy. 49 in McHenry when she swerved to avoid a dog, left the road and flipped.
Holliman, unrestrained, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered massive head injuries.
She underwent surgery Monday night to relieve pressure on her brain and was in critical but stable condition Tuesday morning.
Basye was restrained and had to be cut out of the vehicle.
Both were transported by helicopter to Hattiesburg.
On Thursday, West Overstreet was injured when he ran into the side of a semitrailer in front of the Kangaroo on Hwy. 49 in Wiggins.
Witnesses told police Overstreet was traveling at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles on both the left and right in his Chevy Silverado pickup when he struck a truck carrying empty beehives.
He was transported by ambulance to Forrest General Hospital.
Both accidents remain under investigation.
