Kenny McLaughlin, a former corrections officer at the Stone County Regional Correctional Facility, has been sentenced in connection with a case where it was alleged he ordered two inmates to assault another inmate.
District Court Judge Louis Guirola Jr. sentenced McLaughlin to one year in prison and ordered him to pay restitution in the amount of $6,000.
McLaughlin had pleaded guilty March 29 to deprivation of rights under color of law and had been free on $25,000 bond.
He had admitted he directed an inmate to arrange for another inmate's beating in a shower area of the correctional facility in 2008.
