The Stone High boys' soccer team shut out Long Beach Friday to move to 4-1 in district play.
Kolby Krohn had a pair of goals while Mason Hunt and Michael Graham each added a goal.
Tanner Nations stopped six shots to earn the shutout.
Coach Jim Risen credited the defensive efforts of Jake Cain, Tyler Simmons, Tavarus Breland, Joey Touchstone, Kyle Kunns, Fletcher Bond & Kalep Austin.
The Tomcats are now 9-3-3 overall.
Krohn tallied twice in less than two minutes in the second half to lift the Tomcats over Vancleave in non-conference soccer two weeks ago.
"I was proud of our young kids and their tenacity to play despite the injury-illness bug we are going through," said Coach Jim Risen. "We've got guys sick, we've got guys hurt and we've got guys on vacation and they just went out there and got after it."
Tanner Nations stopped five of the six shots he faced.
"That was a good game to get us ready for the second half of regional play," Risen said.
Traci Monroe recorded a hat trick, scoring three unassisted goals as the Lady 'Cats rolled over Vancleave 7-0.
Kaitlyn Harwell scored once on an assist from Jessica Dedeaux and another goal unassisted, Grace Stonnington scored on an assist from Katie Anderson and Monroe assisted on a goal by Hannah Martinez.
"I thought, coming off the holiday break, we were a little rusty," Coach Jamie Pittman said, despite the abundance of goals.
The Lady 'Cats are now 10-2 overall and 3-1 in Region 7-5A and were scheduled to visit West Harrison Tuesday to resume regional play.
