The Wiggins Police Department is partnering with the Stone County Sheriff's Department, local churches, and businesses to collect household necessities, toiletries, feminine products, drinks, and baby items for our neighbors in Louisiana who were recently affected by Hurricane Laura. After going through Hurricane Katrina, we can understand the importance of having these supplies available.
Starting Monday, September 7th, the Wiggins Police Department will be open daily collecting the items listed above. We will also stage our trailer in the Wal-Mart parking lot from Monday, September 7th until Friday, September 11th from 4pm until 6pm each day to collect these items there as well. The dates to deliver the items to Louisiana will be determined after we fill 2 trailers. The goal is to deliver the items and prepare a hot meal for one of the communities while we are there. We are asking that the churches also help collect these items to fill the trailer as we come together to represent Wiggins and Stone County as a community. We appreciate your assistance in helping us achieve our goal.
