Author Ginnane to sign book at Stone County Library

The Stone County Library will host a Book Signing/Meet the Author event on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 3-5 p.m., with a book reading for the children at 4 p.m.

When Andre Johnson Ginnane struggled to find a fun, interactive activity book for her son’s party, she decided she needed to write one herself. Ginnane wanted something that would ignite the wonderment and imagination of children with varying interests and a wide range of ages.

“The storyline and activities are ideal for a single child or a group of children.” Ginnane explains, “It’s perfect for anytime including rainy days, play dates, birthday or holiday parties, or any time you want to engage children in an experience that renders pure joy and excitement. The sensory activities are also great for children on the Autism Spectrum or those with visual or hearing impairments.”

“The Adventures of Sal” follows main character Sal who has moved into a new neighborhood and meets a new friend, John David. With each new adventure, Sal’s protective mother reminds them to be careful and use safety precautions to avoid injury. After their many fun and sometimes dangerous adventures, they learn that maybe, just maybe, Sal’s mom might have been right all along!

Her inspiration, first and foremost, was her son Kai. Kai is Ginnane’s driving force and gives her passion for her writing. In addition to being a mother, Ginnane is a graduate of both MS Gulf Coast Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. A native of Wiggins, Ginnane enjoyed a successful sales career in corporate America where she received numerous accolades and earned multiple prestigious professional designations.

Ginnane is already thinking of Sal’s next adventures – there’s no limit to what Sal can do!
