A man being booked into the Stone County Regional Correctional Facility brought more charges down on himself when he tried to introduce contraband into the facility.
George Moore, Jr. had been arrested by the Wiggins Police Department on a possession of a controlled substance with intent charge after having been pulled over recently.
“During booking, he asked for a cup of water and waited until the booking officer turned their head before fishing a sandwich bag out of his trousers,” said Investigator Candace Stewart of the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, who is handling the new charge. “He then put the baggie in the water cup and covered it with another cup and took it to the zone with him.”
The contraband was seized and field-tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine.
It has since been sent to the state crime lad for analysis.
Moore had a court date scheduled for Tuesday to face a charge of possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.
