The Stone High soccer teams both finished regular-season play Friday with victories over Forrest County AHS.

Both the Tomcats [19-3 overall] and the Lady ’Cats [16-3-2 overall] wrapped up regional play with 8-0 records and Region 7-4A titles.

Each were scheduled to host a first-round playoff game Tuesday with the Lady ’Cats taking on Pass Christian at 6 p.m. and the Tomcats facing Bay High at 7:15.

TOMCATS

Kase Krohn registered a hat trick as Stone defeated the Aggies 6-1. Krohn also added a pair of assists.

Jonathan Burn, Jaron Cunningham and Lawson Pearson also scored for Stone while Clint Ryals assisted on two goals and Avery Liles on another.

Krohn finished the season with 15 goals, bested only by the 19 scored by Ryals.

Krohn also put up a hat trick in a 6-0 shutout of Poplarville last Tuesday Liles added a pair of goals and Carson Strickland scored another while Kirkland Bond [2], Ben Edens, Krohn and Pearson contributed assists.

Braeden Brewer stopped five shots to earn the shutout.

LADY ’CATS

The Lady ’Cats took a 7-0 victory over the Aggies. Statistics were not available at press time.

Mary Grace Batson, Brianna Lee and Morgan Pickering all scored in a 3-0 shutout of Poplarville last Tuesday.Batson led the team with 16 goals on the season.

Alyssa Seymour tallied an assist while Leah Capiola and MacKenzie McLure combined in goal to blank the Hornets.
