Two more people have been arrested in connection with an Oct. 7 shooting at the Keith’s Superstore in Bond.

Stone County Sheriff’s Department investigator Candace Stewart said she had arrested 19-year-old Harley Shehorn and 18-year-old Kaleb Helton of Saucier.

“I received a Crime Stoppers tip that the vehicle and the individuals we were looking for may be in Saucier,” she said. “After conducting surveillance, it was determined the vehicle and the individuals were the ones caught on surveillance cameras at the scene.”

In what investigators have called a drug deal gone bad, 32-year-old Leroy Whitehead of Purvis allegedly met Shehorn and Helton to purchase a quantity of drugs and then refused to pay them, resulting in the shooting.

Whitehead left the scene, but returned after fixing a tire and was arrested.

Shehorn and Helton have both been charged with aggravated assault.
