Charles Hosey

Charles M Hosey, 91, of Wiggins passed away July 15, 2021.

Mr. Hosey was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and served in the Military Police. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University. He retired from the U. S. Forest Service where he worked many years. He loved working and being in the woods from MS to AL, FL, NC and back to MS. He loved living in MS. He had a strong work ethic and could work outside all day without getting tired, even in the MS heat. He was a member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Wiggins.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mercedes L. Hosey of Wiggins, whom he was married to for 68 years; three children: Gary C Hosey (Sandi) of Brevard NC, Monica H. Lewis (Ted) of Wiggins, and Teresa Hosey Curley (John M.) of Hattiesburg. He has 10 grandchildren living in OR, NC, and MS and 17 great-grandchildren. He has a very loving close-knit family. Mr. Hosey had a wonderful sense of humor and shared it with everyone he knew. He was a role model to us all as a strong and loving family man.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Eglin Hosey Garlick, step-father Nicholas “Nick” Garlick, father William H. Hosey. and brother, William H. “Bill” Hosey Jr.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 19 at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, July 20 at St Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs.
