Submit Facebook Twitter WhatsApp SMS Email Print Save Sunday, September 27, 2020, James Martin Turner, 73 of Wiggins passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was born October 29, 1946 in Dallas, TX to William and Iva Mae (Clark) Turner. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, William David; brothers, William Henry "Bill Jr." Turner III and John Edgar Turner. He leaves behind a dysfunctional family that he adored and referred to as his “Turner Tribe”, Michael (Thea) Turner of Texas, Rebecca (Monty) Elder of Colorado, Mary (David) Pruitt of Montana, Marcia (Chuck) Allred of Colorado, Stephanie (Jeremy) Smith of Mississippi, Ruth Kimble of North Carolina, Stephen (Sandi) Turner of Mississippi, Esther Tucker of Mississippi, Ethan (Christy) Turner of Colorado, Hannah Turner of Colorado, Heather Turner of Colorado; sister, Kathy Turner of Texas; a special red-head, Judy Kurth and more grandkids than you can shake a stick at, along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The way James died is just like he lived: he wrote his own rules and paved his own way and if you said it couldn’t be done, he did it anyway. He loved to tell tall tales - his personality larger than life. He took fashion cues from no one. One of James’ signature looks was a yellow polo and blue jeans…not blue jeans but BLUE jeans or blue t-shirt and actual blue jeans with suspenders. Finally selecting a more comfortable look of pajama pants. James was an entrepreneur in every sense of the word. James tried his hand at many ventures; fireman, computer technician, deer scent company, yard architect, gardener, worked at Toyota dealership, security guard, caregiver and salesman extraordinaire, but above all he liked his job as a dad and grandpa best. While he was a unique and complicated man, he was simply amazing. He adored his family. He was an avid hunter, even winning the state title in an Oklahoma Whitetail hunting competition, a fisherman and all-around outdoorsman. He enjoyed collecting guns, watching the Dallas Cowboys and college football. James loved Schwann’s ice cream, Dr Pepper, tapioca pudding and red-headed women, not necessarily in that order. He didn’t have many dislikes, but he didn’t like to see hunting season end or be told what to do. He would like it publicly known that he never cared for any of the Clinton’s and now feels safe admitting it. James will be voting Republican in this year’s election and all years following. To every woman he is currently engaged to, and there are many, the wedding is off!!! The family would like to thank Azalea Garden’s Nursing Home and Canon Hospice for all their care and for not pressing harassment charges!! A Celebration of Life was held on October 3rd at Red Hill Baptist Church. In honor of James, do something James would approve of, get your oil changed or propose to the lady in line behind you. Trinity Funeral Services is forever honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. James and asks that you continue to keep his family lifted in prayers Facebook Twitter WhatsApp SMS Email Print Save × Add an entry as Emoticons [smile] [beam] [wink] [sad] [cool] [innocent] [rolleyes] [whistling] [lol] [huh] [tongue] [love] [sleeping] [yawn] [unsure] [angry] [blink] [crying] [ohmy] [scared] [sleep] [sneaky] [tongue_smile] [thumbdown] [thumbup] [censored] [happybirthday] [ban] [spam] [offtopic] [batman] [ninja] [pirate] [alien] Comment Text Cancel Add entry × Your entry has been submitted. × Report Cancel Report Abuse ×Reported ×There was a problem reporting this. × Watch the guestbook.
