She was born December 2, 1956 in Biloxi, the forth of six and daughter of Print Edgar and Betty Jane (Barton) Eaton. Growing up in the Biloxi and D'iberville / St. Martin area, you might imagine that she enjoyed fishing, crabbing and being around the water, she just did not want to be in it. JoAnn never learned to swim and would not get on a boat for that reason. She was a "clean freak", constantly cleaning and assuring that her siblings did as well. In fact, she was known to take the broom to them if they refused! JoAnn graduated from D'Iberville with the Class of 1974 and worked at the Sunflower grocery store, which was her very first job. She also worked at the video store in Biloxi before going to the Isle of Capri and working in the cage. JoAnn was a people person at heart and later went to work at Waffle House in Wiggins from the day it opened and was there until she could no longer work. She is lovingly remembered as a "head strong clean freak". An independent woman who would never ask for help, but was always giving and helping others. JoAnn was a kind and loving person that never met a stranger. Her family was important to her and she was the centerpiece of it, doing whatever it took to keep it together. Her sense of humor was her own, always enjoying a good prank and if you were connected on social media, she was always sending the craziest stuff she could find. When Facetime came about, JoAnn used it all the time whether you wanted to or not. She enjoyed keeping up and staying in touch so being able to see you as well just made it all the more fun for her. She will be forever missed by everyone in her contacts and beyond. JoAnn was preceded by her parents, Print and Betty Jane Eaton, her sister Mary Jane (Arthur) Fletcher; cousin Tina Parker; her former husband, Timothy Robinson, and recently her current husband, Larry Bernard. Left to cherish her memories are: her children, son T.J (Sonia) Windham of Perkinston and daughter Tiffany Robinson (Trey Powell) of Gautier; her sister Alice (Dan) Wolfe of Gulfport, brothers Bill (Linda) Eaton of Wiggins, Randy (Cindy) Eaton of Ocean Springs and Terry (Joann) Eaton of OH. She leaves a legacy of three grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Donovan and Dalton Thomas and Rionna Doyle, several nieces and nephews, and a whole lot of friends and extended family, both at Waffle House and beyond. Services were held Friday, August 27th at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry, with interment in the Wiggins City Cemetery afterward. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Bernard family once again in their time of need. Please keep them in your prayers through this trying time.
