Mr. Paul Anthony Rodriguez, age 61 of Pascagoula, died early Tuesday morning, May 28, 2019, at his home.
Paul was born August 14, 1957 in Chicago, Ill., the youngest of three children to Paul Gabriel and Margaret Ann (Roddy) Rodriguez. He would grow up in several cities around the U.S., mainly New Orleans where he was an altar boy at St. Louis Cathedral.
Paul came to enjoy the outdoors and music, playing football, and was a member of the Drum & Bugle Corps for several years as well. He graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle, Wash., a member of the Class of 1975. After graduation, he joined the US Army and was stationed in Europe in the post-Vietnam era during the cold war.
Following his military service, Paul worked in a couple different jobs while he attended Tulane University, most of which involved driving. He chose a career hauling stage equipment for concerts, driving for many musicians and bands, including George Straight, Trace Adkins, the Grateful Dead, Diana Ross, and many others.
He is remembered as a very opinionated but sweet and funny guy that to truly know, was to love him. Often referred to as a "big teddy bear", Paul Anthony was a loving, caring husband and father that simply adored his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched.
Paul was preceded by his parents, and his only brother, Phillip Rodriguez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Louise (Julien) Rodriguez; daughters, Sara Rodriguez of New Orleans, La., and Keelee Julien of Ocean Springs; sons Paul Adam (Emily) Rodriguez of Wash., Joseph and Jacob Rodriguez, both of New Orleans, Travis (Monica) McQuillan of Saucier, and Shaun Keefe of North Carolina; ten grandchildren, Kinsy and Noahalani Rodriguez, Samaia and Haija Boyd, Payton, Jayla, and James McQuillan, Krislynn and Chandler Keefe, and Carter Anthony Julien; one sister, Ana Keck; his loving Chihuahua, Lily; and several extended family, friends, and acquaintances scatterd across the country.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry.
Burial will follow in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
Trinity is honored to serve the Rodriguez family in their time of need, and asks that you keep them in your prayers during this difficult time.
